根据卵泡生长过程中形态、大小、生长速度及其他一些组织学特征,可将其划分为3个阶段,最早阶段即为初级卵泡。其为一个实心结构,由卵母细胞和一层至几层卵泡细胞组成。初级卵泡由始基卵泡发育而来。此时卵母细胞增大,卵泡细胞亦增大并分裂增殖为立方形。卵母细胞与周边卵泡细胞之间形成透明带。初级卵泡继续发育即为次级卵泡。
