在机械制图中按正投影法将机件向投影面投影所得到的图形。以正六面体的六个面作为基本投影面，机件置于六面体之中分别向这些投影面投影，在各基本投影面上得到的视图分别称为主视图、俯视图、仰视图、左视图、右视图和后视图（图1）。这六个视图统称为基本视图。基本视图必须按图1所示方向旋转后摊平的位置放置。将机件的某一部分向基本投影面投影所得的视图称为局部视图。如果机件的某些结构的主要表面不与基本投影面平行，将机件向不平行于任何基本投影面投影所得的视图称为斜视图(图2)。对于局部视图和斜视图,必须在视图上方标出视图的名称（如A向）,在相应视图附近用箭头指明投影方向，并注上同样的字母。假想将机件的倾斜部分旋转到与某一基本投影面平行后再向该投影面投影所得的视图称为旋转视图。绘制图样时应首先合理选取主视图，再根据机件的结构形状特征和复杂程度确定若干个其他视图以表达机件的形状。
