美籍德国女高音歌唱家。1888年 6月13日生于梅泽堡，1952年 4月23日卒于纽约。1909年在汉堡首次登台，以后在汉堡歌剧院演唱10年。她擅长演唱歌剧和德国艺术歌曲，以银铃般的歌声著称于世。从1919～1937年她是维也纳歌剧院的演员。1938年移居纽约并在费城柯蒂斯音乐学院任教。1914年纽约大都会歌剧院上演R.施特劳斯的《玫瑰骑士》时，她成功地扮演了女主角索菲。她塑造的W.A.莫扎特歌剧中的女主角,如黛斯皮娜(《女人心》)、苏珊娜（《费加罗的婚姻》）、采莉娜(《唐璜》)、帕帕盖娜(《魔笛》)尤为人们所赞赏。她演唱的F.舒伯特歌曲不少都有录音。编有《德国歌曲》(1948)一书。
