一种天然的羟基香豆素衍生物(见香豆素),分子式C19H12O6。存在于苜蓿、草头、三叶草等植物的鲜草或腐草中。1941年由H.A.坎贝尔从白香草木犀中得到。紫苜蓿酚为微红色结晶;味略苦;熔点288~292°C;能溶于碱、吡啶,略溶于苯、氯仿,不溶于水、醇和醚中。紫苜蓿酚在兔、大鼠、豚鼠和狗身上有抗凝血作用。
