苏州弹词演员。江苏苏州人。1936年，从张云庭学习《玉蜻蜓》，1941年从周玉泉学习《文武香球》。当时的论者说他"说噱得云庭之妙,弹唱有玉泉之神"。他在"俞调"和"周调"的基础上自创新腔。避"周调"之柔弱，寓铿锵于委婉，旋律婉转,韵味醇厚,世称"蒋调"，是近代苏州弹词流传最为广泛的唱腔流派之一。中华人民共和国成立后，蒋月泉依据弹词表现现代生活的需要,设计了苍劲有力、深沉雄浑的新腔,使"蒋调"有了新的丰富与发展。他于1951年参加上海市人民评弹团后，在整理加工传统弹词《白蛇传》、《玉蜻蜓》的工作中做出了较大贡献。同时,积极参加编演反映现代生活的曲目，如中篇评弹《一定要把淮河修好》、《海上英雄》、《江南春潮》及长篇弹词《夺印》等。蒋月泉先后任中国曲艺家协会副主席、上海分会副主席。（见彩图）
