是指在收入来京的情况下，运用汇率与价格的对经常项目失衡进行调节的方法。
由于这一调整机制与进出口商品的供求弹性关系密切，所以被称为弹性论。
这一理论最先由英国经济学家马易贝尔提出，后经罗宾逊、麦克勒普和哈伯勒等人完善，发展成为国际收支理论的重要内容。
