急性鼻炎的并发症，常见病原菌为链球菌、葡萄球菌、流感杆菌及厌氧菌等。大都随鼻炎的治疗而治愈。有时分泌物引流不畅，能致持久性发热，发生一般中毒症状，头痛，流脓涕，上颌窦部微肿及压痛。婴儿筛窦炎常出现眶周水肿及蜂窝织炎。鼻黏膜充血、水肿、中、下鼻道有黏稠脓液。根据病史鼻腔检查及鼻窦X线摄影等进行诊断。年长儿可作上颌窦及额窦的透照检查。保证引流通畅，用抗生素，必要时行上颌窦穿刺术。
