热线(hotline)处于危机中的个人利用救急电话服务解除危机的技巧。1968年美国洛杉矶自杀预防中心最早使用这一方法，以帮助那些在危机中有自杀企图但又要求摆脱的人们;后逐渐增加用途，从怀孕至药物使用，都可用热线电话。倾听、理解和提供支持是其重要内容。典型的热线之特征为:(I)在其他帮助性机构正常工作时间以外(如周末、夜间)进行服务。(2)工作人员常为非专业人员或准备从事社会心理卫生工作的专业人员。(3)接受任何人、任何问题的询问。(4)提供劝导、信息和介绍服务机构。其原则为:(0注重于危机。(2)帮助认知上的自我把握。(3)给予信息和教育。(4)建立与其他社会服务机构的联系。其优点在于不需见面，不借助于交通设施，不需等待，不限时间，保密性强，所以容易普及，并乐于被人接受。 (赵拼派徐云撰梁宝勇审)
