| 甘草 Glycyrrhiza uralensis；licorice root 豆科甘草属的一种。多年生草本；茎带木质。奇数羽状复叶；小叶3～8对，卵圆形，先端尖或钝。总状花序腋生，萼钟状，有5齿；花冠紫红或紫蓝色，旗瓣卵圆形，有短柄，翼瓣和龙骨瓣，均具长柄。荚果弯曲成镰刀状或环状，外面密布褐色细刺。其根及根状茎粗大，圆柱形，剥去外皮呈黄色，含甘草甜素，性平、味甘，有和中缓急、清热解毒、补脾和胃、调和诸药之功，又用作烟草加料剂及蜜饯、糖果的香料。
