本文研究了晚清西法东渐的过程，认为：新教传教士自鸦片战争后，采取多种途径，大力引进西方文明的法律制度，包括国际公法、刑法、民法、商律、程序诉讼法等，为清末法律改革提供了借鉴，在某种程度上推进了中国法律的近代转型，因而，传教士是晚清时期沟通东西方法律文化交流的重要桥梁。
