"Qiu Shen" was one of the most important judicatory institutions in Qing dynasty, which prescribed those prisoners who accepted the guilty of "Zhanjian hou" or "Jiaojian hou" should have their executions postponed to the next fall to be checked from the local governors to the emperor again,instead of being killed right away.
秋审是清代一项重要的司法制度,它规定被判处“斩监候”或“绞监候”的犯人,并不立即执行,而是缓决,缓到第二年秋天再对其进行自下而上的复核。
