| 净土 pure land 佛教术语。大乘佛教传说的佛所居处，以清净安乐为特征。与众生现世所住的秽土、秽园相对。又称为净刹、净界、佛国等。早期大乘经典中已提及净土。但真正确立净土信仰以至佛教宗派的是《无量寿经》关于西方阿弥陀佛的极乐世界的说法。《观无量寿经》详细地描绘了极乐净土的妙好庄严。佛教中净土并不囿于西方一处，还有东方阿閦佛的妙喜世界、药师佛的东方净琉璃世界等。佛教中也有主张心即净土者。
