| 观世音 Avalokité’svara 佛教菩萨名。又译光世音、观自在。唐代为避太宗李世民名讳，乃略称观音，故又有观音菩萨之称。为阿弥陀佛的左胁侍，西方三圣之一。佛教称观世音为大慈大悲的菩萨，有多种化身，遇难众生只要诵念其名号，观世音“观其音声”即时前往拯救。中国佛教传说观世音为四大菩萨之一，其道场在浙江省普陀山，夏历二月十九为其诞生日，六月十九为其成道日，九月十九为其涅槃日。中国寺院塑像中观世音常为女相。 |
