| 舒新城（1893～1960） 中国出版家，辞书编纂家。又名维周。1893年7月5日生于湖南溆浦。早年从事教育工作。1928年，继徐之诰主编《辞海》，采取“推陈出新，顺时以应”的革新措施，广泛收集新词，改用新式标点，1936年出版收词10万余条的综合性辞典《辞海》。1937年任中华书局代总经理。抗日战争胜利后，继续主持编辑工作，出版了中华文库等读物。1957年，他提议重新修订《辞海》，得到毛泽东的支持。1959年夏成立辞海编辑委员会，任主任委员。《辞海》重新修订工作开展后年余，他于1960年11月28日在上海病逝。著有《现代教育方法》、《近代中国教育史料》、《近代中国教育思想史》等。
