本文以爨底下村为例,在评述遗产资源的基础上,指出其旅游发展中出现的问题,并对爨底下村遗产旅游可持续发展提出建议。

川底下村现保存着500间，70余套明清时代的四合院民居。整个村庄保留这样比较完整的古代建筑群，在我国还属于首次发现。全村建筑以清代四合院为主，也有明代风格的，大部分房屋为砖瓦结构，就地取材，门口均在院的东南角，全部建筑集砖雕、石雕、木雕子一体，形态各异，很少雷同，实出风格，会意向往。如：合家欢乐图、喜鹊登枝、望子成龙、吉祥如意等，且错落有秩，层次分明，长幼分清。各家的正房东山墙均有泰山支撑，取东边长、大之意，大道边有“板塔门”、骡马店、建筑新奇，有很强的防护作用。
村北的爨宝峪沟岩洞是抗日小学遗址，村北有“一线天”，柏九石阵、京西古道遗址、神驹蹄窝、古龙王庙等，周围的山峰形状奇特，大多象形，有“金蟾望月”、“威虎镇山”、“神包啸天”、“蝙蝠献福”、“笔架峰”、“笔峰”、“插关岭子”等，是难得的自然景观。
