This paper introduces the overall design scheme of the ZYW—1200R fully hydraulic mine drilling rig, and combining the characteristics of drilling along the soft projecting coal seams, outlines the designing thought and the structural patterns of the main components, the prototype experimental data in the laboratory and the held conditions.

Based on analysis about status of coal seam infusion technology and soft coal seam preventing rib spalling technology and used coal’s failure mechanism、strength theory and coal’s wetting mechanism, the mechanism of shallow holes infusion at coal wall preventing rib spalling in soft coal seam was analyzed.
