在辽宁红崖子乡老付马村的杂木岭，有一座明代建筑----望海寺庙。

据乡志记载，清乾隆二十三年曾重修此庙，到解放前，只有3间正殿，4间耳房，3间厢房，1座古碑，1个铁香炉（于1966年被砸铁盗卖）。殿内供有药王塑像。解放后，寺庙改成了学校，后又改建成果树队。

1992年，经兴城市民委批准，重修此庙。现在的望海寺寺院东西宽80米，南北长120米，庙内有山门，有龙土殿、天王殿、大雄宝殿、观音殿、玉泉殿、佛主殿、念佛殿、斋堂和3个香炉、1座宝鼎。有4名主持僧人。

该庙坐落在山林之中，背靠青山，面对水库，可谓位处山水之间，松柏之中。逢春夏季节山花烂漫时，松柏翠绿，到此一游，如进仙境一般。每逢农历初一、十五多有信男信女来庙烧香、拜佛。
