By investigating the use of Chinese language among Kazak nationality students from Kazak High School 36 and Xinjiang University in Urumqi City, the article probes into the status quo of the use of Chinese language by these students on campus, in public places and in Kazak nationality families, and analyzes the present putonghua level of Kazak nationality students.
