Up till now no scholar has ever probed into the evolution of Qiong Lin Yan and still there are controversies with regard to the plot,the time of publication and the exsiting tale version as well as whether the Peking Opera Wen Qiao Nao Fu-Da Gun Chu Xiang was written by Tan Xinpei,etc.
