为禾本科植物稗的根和苗叶。
【植物形态】
稗(《左传》) 一年生草本，高50～130厘米。秆直立或广展。叶片扁平，线形，长达40厘米，宽5～10毫米，叶鞘秃净，叶舌缺。圆锥花序直立，狭，不规则的尖塔形，长10～30厘米；分枝复生，覆叠，广展或紧贴，最下的稍疏离，最长的通常长过2厘米，上部的渐尖而紧接；小穗长约3毫米，被粗毛或乳突状粗毛，芒长达1厘米或更长，或仅为一尖头：第一颖卵形，长约为小穗的1/8；第二颖与不孕小花的外稃近等长，5脉；不孕小花中性，具内稃；结实小花的外稃椭圆形，长2.5～3毫米，白色或棕色。花果期夏秋季。 生长于沼泽处，为水稻田中杂草之一。分布遍及全国温暖地区。
