直接测热法（direct calorimetry）：
将被测者置于一特殊的检测环境中，收集被测者在一定时间内（通过辐射、传导、对流及蒸发4个方面）发散的总热量，然后换算成单位时间的代谢量，即能量代谢率。直接测热的装置较为复杂，主要用于研究肥胖和内分泌系统障碍等。研究能量代谢一般采用间接测热法。
是能量需要量的测定方法中的一种。
