“后学历”指评聘专业技术职务后再取得晋升高一级职务任职资格规定学历。在推荐晋升高一级专业技术职务时，其取得学历前后任低一级职务的时间允许相加，但取得学历后的任职时间，对晋升高级职务的，必须满3年以上；晋升中级职务的必须满2年以上。
例如，高级职称的最低学历要求为本科，中级职称的最低学历要求为大专，如果学历为大专者被评聘为中级职称后，再通过获得本科学历，则其参加高级职称评审，必须是获得本科学历满３年以上。
