临沂师院法学院是适应综合性临沂大学的建设和更紧密地为区域经济服务的需要，经上级批准，于2003年7月31日在原临沂师范学院政法与经济系的基础上正式成立的。
法学院是一个师资力量雄厚、办学规模较大、办学条件优良和具有综合办学能力的二级学院。下设政治系、法律系、马列教学部和哲学与社会发展研究所，设有思想政治教育和法学两个本、专科专业。我院现有教师89人，其中教授8人，副教授20人，讲师21人，博士研究生6人，硕士研究生50人。各级各类在校生1900余人。另外，法学院设有临沂市法律援助中心工作站，是临沂市国家公关员资格指定培训单位、全国高等教育公共关系资格培训中心授权的公共关系资格证书定点培训单位。
法学院秉承为临沂市基础教育、经济和社会发展服务的宗旨，紧紧围绕教学为本、质量立校、学生为中心的办学理念，狠抓教学与科研工作。几年来，以学科和课程建设为龙头，以培养创新型、复合型人才为目标，以提高专升本率和本考研率为重点，创立了“四、六、七、八”全程指导的本科学生培养模式，形成了科学有效的教育培养机制，为学生各种素质的提升提供了广阔的发展空间。本培养模式在我院首届本科毕业生中取得显著成效，2000级思政本科56名毕业生中，报名考研36人，过线21人，过线率为57.8%。我院先后被评为省级先进基层党组织、校级教学质量先进单位和星级文明单位等。法学院在教学质量得到全面提高的同时，科研工作全面丰收。近几年来，法学院教师共取得科研成果404项，其中论文286篇，著作（含教材）118部，获省市科研成果奖25项。教学研究立项8项，结题6项，其中3项获省级奖，3项获校级奖。
