| 叶猴 Presbytis；langers；leaf monkeys 灵长目猿猴亚目狭鼻组疣猴科叶猴属的通称。以吃树叶为主；尾很长，适于树栖；体型纤细，无颊囊。体长41.5～78.7厘米，尾长49.5～109.2厘米，体重5～13.6千克；共15种，分布于亚洲东南部。长尾叶猴个体最大，体重雄性可达20余千克，雌性17.7千克。各种叶猴的毛色基本是通体一致，或褐、或灰、或黑，腹面色浅。头小而圆，耳大裸露。脸的皮肤深灰或黑色，有的在唇部、眼圈具白色皮肤。臀部有胼胝。
栖息在热带或亚热带的树林里，特别喜欢在高大的树上活动，有时也到地面饮水或寻找食物。在树间跳跃，距离可达10～12米。紫脸叶猴跳跃时速达37千米。白天活动，夜晚睡在大树上，没有窝。中国广西的黑叶猴，也称乌猿，冬季常在石灰岩洞中过夜，每天有相当长的时间在岩石上活动。长尾叶猴有季节性垂直迁移现象。结群生活，少则数只，多则数十只，由1只成年雄猴率领。叶猴多在清晨和傍晚觅食树叶、花及竹笋，亦食野果。生育期多在春季，每胎产1仔。长尾叶猴分布于印度、尼泊尔、克什米尔、巴基斯坦和中国西藏南部。紫脸叶猴和尼尔基黑叶猴产于印度半岛西南缘和斯里兰卡。黑叶猴分布在亚洲东南部、在中国仅分布到广西和贵州，其中的白头叶猴亚种仅分布在广西左江两岸，为中国特有。其余各种分别分布在中南半岛及苏门答腊、爪哇、加里曼丹。在中国叶猴已濒于灭绝，已被列为第一类保护动物。 |
