| 导航卫星 navigation satellite 为地面、海洋、空中和空间用户导航定位的人造地球卫星。导航卫星属于卫星导航系统的空间部分，它装有专用的无线电导航设备。用户接收卫星发来的无线电导航信号，通过时间测距或多普勒测速分别获得用户相对于卫星的距离或距离变化率等导航参数，并根据卫星发送的时间、轨道参数求出在定位瞬间卫星的实时位置坐标，从而定出用户的地理位置坐标（二维或三维坐标）和速度矢量分量。1960年 4月美国发射了第一颗导航卫星子午仪1B。此后，美国、苏联先后发射了子午仪宇宙导航卫星系列。通过国际间合作还发射了具有定位能力的民用交通管制和搜索营救卫星系列。 美国全球定位系统（GPS）和苏联全球导航卫星系统（GLONASS ）是以卫星星座作为空间部分的全球全天候导航定位系统。GPS采用18颗工作星和3颗备份星组成GPS空间星座。GLONASS采用24颗工作星和3颗备份星组成GLONASS空间星座。 |
